The hubby and i have recently returned from our first trip to NY.
We stayed at a small boutique hotel on Park Avenue.
On our first night we returned to the hotel to be greeted by champers, huge chocolate dipped strawberries and rose petals on the bed....very romantic!
Here are a few photos of some of the things we did:
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at Peanut butter and Co.
And took the free boat to Staten Island. Everything including the Statue of Liberty was sooo much smaller than i expected!!
The NY Public Library: Does anyone else recognize this pic from Sex and The City?? Or is it just me, the sad English tourist taking all the tele/film snaps!!!!
Cartier wrapped up in a bow - maybe it should have been a little less tightly wrapped as only serious shoppers were welcome.
Not nearly as many pigeons in Ny as there are in London. Infact these are the only ones we really saw!! Urgh!! i hate the dirty rats with wings!!
My Idol is Audrey Hepburn - so it was a real treat to visit Tiffanys and stand outside Holly Golightlys apartment.
We really should have skated on the first day - our feet hurt so much by the end of the trip that we found it very difficult to get around this rink.
Times Square - on our first night we went to Ellens Stardust diner - it was so much fun. The wait staff sing and they serve fantastic alcoholic milkshakes!!
Toys r us - i really wanted a go, but the wait was over an hour and we were due to leave for the airport.
Oh....and i have to say...i am very proud of myself - i am scared of lifts and heights, but i went up The Empire state building!!!!!!!! (I took CBT last year to help with a few issues - this was one of them) I was terrified, i felt sick, thought i was gonna faint, but i did it and survived to live the tale :)

What a lovely trip you had. I've never been to NY and it's somewhere I'd like to visit one day. At the moment I am missing the horseriding and snowboarding - I haven't been able to go since 2006!!
Wow, what lovely pictures and sounds like you had an amazing time. I havn't been to NY for years now and am hankering to go back again and visit! xxx
Wow it always looks so magical NY. Its strange because i cant stand cities as rule. (Detest london) It always surprises I think DH when I say I would love to go. (bit problematic as I have a fear of areoplanes! lol)
But I think its because of films and t.v shows. So it always seems familiar.
loved all your pictures, and I recognise the civic hall from SATC. Glad you had a wonderful time. Cant wait to see your goodies.

Brilliant pics! I've been to NY twice but that was a few years ago now – your pics so make me want to go again!
Looks fab!! I'm a country girl and hate cities but would make an exception for NY!!

Wow wow wow!! I LOVE New York! Mr Plum took me for my 30th (it was a surprise and he only told me at the check in desk!) .... we have both been desperate to go back ever since! Looks like you had fun :)
Oh wow it looks amazing! I am going for four nights with my teenage daughter the Saturday before christmas. We have never been before so we are really excited although a little apprehensive. I am not too keen on flying so thats the bit I am not looking forward to. We are planning where we want to go, definitely ice skating and the Staten Island ferry. Any tips or recommendations gratefully received.

Ah isn't NY the greatest :)
Me and the lovely were there in the summer and it was just one of happiest places, even when it rained!
xx
ps. we didn't see any sets whilst we were in NY but the first time the Lovely came to my parents house, he said we had to go to Wells to see where they filmed Hot Fuzz....
Oh you lucky lucky girl. I was in New York in November of last year and I fell hook line and sinker in love with the place and have been yearning to go back ever since.
oh me too, me too!! I am lucky to have been twice, once to meet a very young MrB who was travelling, after having known me for only 3 months....the cheek! And the second time for new years, for our honeymoon! It is a great great city! I love it! x Did you go with out the two little boys?! Mrb and I want to go to run the marathon in 2012, but I don't know how brave I am about leaving babies?! x
Thanks for your reply x
Oh WOW, that looks fantastic. Loving the touch with the rose petals. I haven't been but would LOVE to go. Have a great weekend.
