Vintage by Hemmingway

Saturday was spent with my hubbie at Londons Southbank for the Vintage festival:

I really wanted to go to this event last year at Goodwood but i was on holiday. We decided to only do one day at Southbank, which worked out well because of my broken foot.
This year, the outside events were free and you only had to pay for inside the Festival hall.
The Festival hall was not very wheelchair friendly!! However i would still pay to go next year as it was well worth it and i'm looking forward to being able to have a dance and a good rummage around the stalls.
I haven't been to Goodwood, but can imagine this event would be better there, as the Southbank ended up packed as most of it was free.
The good thing was, that having tickets ment we got to go to the Shopping village an hour before everyone else, the bad thing was, that i couldn't get into most of the shopping bits with the wheelchair.

There was a fairground and a lovely cream tea tent:

Only a few vehicles: (I think Goodwood had lots)

The Cath store:

I was surprised to see the Southend poster i bought a few weeks ago! And another one that i'm going to hunt down:

Watching the boys at the skate park:

There were some great food stalls, again these areas got packed! we were there early when there was plenty of seating:

We took our food and our Pimms to the pretty Cath Kidston tables:

I sat for ages watching couples dancing:

I love a bit of Polyester Fiesta in the 70's area!!!

Because of my foot, i didn't get to do as much shopping as i'd of liked. I did buy a deer badge, that i'm either going to pin somewhere or make into a magnet. Two Cath bags and a Ladybird book. I was given some free Hemmingway cards, we even saw the man himself:

It was a great day out, i'd certainly go again. And i would take my good camera next time as there were some great shots to get of people in their lovely cloths etc.

I know they have quite a few vehicles at Goodwood. My sister said she will be going there with her partner, children, and their vintage car. ( will have to try to squeeze in!!)
Hope the foot feels better : )

What a great review, and how impressive you made it with your poor foot! My sister and I have started selling some of my mum's Festival of Britian stuff, and I was so excited to get to the Festival exhibition at Southbank in June. I just tried not to think about what I'd be missing in July! Now it's happened, though, it's lovely to read about it and see your photos. Get really well soon.
