A bit of this, and a bit of that

Firstly, i'd like to thank the ladies on my previous post for your kind words. I hope you'll be pleased to hear that my boy is back to his normal self.
We went to Tunbridge Wells to see The Milkshake show, My First Concert. It was the littlests first show, and he loved it - he was up dancing and clapping and shouting 'Fifi!' 'Peppa!' 'Noddy!'
I called into the Cath Kidston there, as i had tried to get this bag on the website - but it wasn't available. But i managed to get it - so i'm very happy :)
I also got the gorgeous button tin -that has been on my wishlist for ages!

I have been busy this week, making some bits on the sewing machine for The seaside swap, my Mums birthday, my boys and myself - i'm definately improving!!!
My seaside bits are all ready to wrap up now - i've enjoyed having alot of time for this one.
Check out the site on this bag where i got a couple of bits for the swap. The site only shows a few bits but I love this treasure trove shop!!
My latest read is this - £1 from poundland!!!!!
It's quite good actually. You can just see the lovely bookmark that i got from Thrify Mrs.
I love all the bits i have from you bloggers. Like the lovely brooch from Contented which at the moment is on my tink cushion in my workroom.
I saw this on someones blog - i can't remember who now (it may have been Beckimarie?)
I popped over to Amazon and got it - it's great fun. I like going over to Flickr and having a look at what others have done with theirs.

My eldest loves Mr Maker on t.v. He was making wiggly worms on straws - my boy has made loads of them and given them to friends. He thought it wolud be a nice idea to make his teacher this butterfly one to go with her Thank you teacher presents.
I love the kids bringing home pictures- but some of the bigger things get on my nerves!!!!! Where do they all go?????

My eldest was so dissapointed to have missed out on his end of term Mr men party, so we held our own today. We had hats and t.shirts. Puzzles......

And a picnic sheet with lots of party food (eaten before the pic was taken. Isn't it funny how all the rubbish foods go, but the rolls are left!!!)- infact i am on a slight sugar high at the moment!!!

Enjoy your week

Anxiety ahoy!!

The last few days have really tested out my anxiety problems!
My sons school has (from when i last heard) 6 cases of swine flu. I was livid that the school had decided to let the infants (including my son) go into junior classes to see where they will be next year, when there were 2 children in there who were sent home the same day with suspected, and later confirmed swine flu!!
I decided on Tuesday to take my son out of school for the rest of the last week of term. I was worried about him, but also my youngest being under 2 and myself, having a heart condition.
Then on wednesday, he woke up not being able to move, a sore throat a temperature and headache!! I felt sick!! A doctor over the phone told me to treat him as, yes, as if he has got swine flu and to keep myself and the littlest away from him. How can a parent do that?? i just wanted to cuddle and kiss him better. Later that night his breathing became faster and he complained of a 'hot feeling' in his chest. I rang up again and was told a doctor would be round. A very kind doctor turned up wearing an apron, gloves and mask and thank god, confirmed that my boy has a bad case of tonsilitus and needs antibiotics straight away. I have never been so relieved!! (I never thought i would be saying that i'm relieved my son has tonsilitus!!!!)
I kissed and cuddled him so much.
Today, he is alot better even though still poorly, but my anxiety levels were really tested - the thoughts that were running through my mind were awful, and i was feeling hot and shaky. Luckily i know its just anxiety now, where as last year i thought i was dying!!
I'm still really worried about the swine flu - i've heard that symptoms don't come out until 4-7 days after being in contact with an infected person. I suffer with OCD although it has been under control until now - but while this flu's about, i'm not taking an risks. I am washing our hands constantly!!
Right, enough rambling. Last weekend we went to a Ferrari day, the money goes to support Little Havens hospices. It was great - we paid for my hubby and my eldest to have a ride.
My hubby coming back in a Ferrari

My eldest little boy setting off in a Lamborghini.

What a great way to raise money!!

Enjoy your weekends ladies - i'm off to make my son his fave dinner and cuddle him some more

The following is food for thought:

The most destructve habit is worry,
The greatest joy is giving,
The greatest loss is that of self respect,
The most satisfying work is helping others.
The greatest boost we can get is encouragement,
The greatest problem to overcome is fear.
The most powerful force in life is love,
The greatest soother and comforter is prayer.
The worst thing to be without is hope,
The dealiest weapon is a sharp tongue,
The two most powerful words are 'I can'.
Our greatest asset is faith,
The most beautiful attire is a smile.
The most apprecited word is 'Thanks.
The most contagious spirit is enthusiasm.
To the world you may be one person but to one person you may be the world.

Thank you, Thank you

Tommorrow i will have been blogging for 6 months.

I really wanted to thank you all for making me feel most welcome.

I so enjoy writing posts and reading yours. I only wish i had started this blog a year earlier, i'm sure it would have helped me through a very difficult time. All you ladies really are wonderful - with your stories and inspirational makes and ideas. I feel privaliged to 'know' you all. I have been involved in some wonderful swaps, giveaways and bought some lovely things from you. I have been so lucky to recieve such wonderful gifts and makes. I really do treasure everything.
I am overwhelmed by the kindness i have recieved.

Heres to the next 6 months of blogging!!

Two ladies that i'd like to give a hug and a big thank you to are Beckimarie at Ramblings of an everday mummy and Claire at Dolly Dollop, whose wonderful gifts arrived at just a time that i needed cheering up.
Bekis parcel came wrapped up in pretty elegant paper.

Inside were some beautiful goodies: Such a lovely card called 'sitting pretty'. A beautiful handmade box filled with lovely goodies and a beautiful canvas. The smell of the candle has made eveything in the box smell so gorgeous!!
Claires parcel came and i recieved this gorgeous picture which i love so much.

She was very kind and also gave me this great brooch that i have pinned on a cushion,
And an Enid Blyton book and wonderful boat that i'm sure my eldest boy will nab away from me!!

Even my hubby has treated me, he came back yesterday from picking up his new car with some Lush goodies and The Holiday on Dvd. He knows i watch it so much, i have it recorded but i'm so happy to have the proper dvd - thank you baby xx

And lastly, here is my dollshouse - put up yesterday by my lovely Brother - in - Law.
The hubby is not good at DIY!!!

Here is the old one if anyones interested??
It needs a bit of love - i haven't put the topcoat on yet, but it's papered and carpeted inside. It's about 15 years old.

Come on, come on, come on........

......Take That and Party!!!!!! Went to see Take That on Saturday at Wembley Stadium. They were fantastic as always! I can say, that as a huge fan, i have never missed a tour (actually, no, i did miss the beautiful world tour - but i did have tickets for it, i was just too ill to go last year)
I was one of those crazed fans as a teenager who sat outside Mark Owens house and really believed that one day i would marry him!!!
I can't believe that now as an adult - i don't fancy him in the slightest!! Although this picture made me go aahhhh, but in more of a motherly way!!hee hee!!
I hope that you will be glad to hear that i am feeling alot better this week. Although i have no energy (from the heat i think) - i did muster up enough energy to boogy away and sing at the concert though!!
My lovely Mum cheered me up with some lavender from her garden and i made the most gorgeous cheescake ever!! I will be making it this weekend to take to a barbie, using raspberries instead of passionfruit.

I have to thank Twiggy.
I won her giveaway and chose these gorgeous buttons. I was also spoilt with some extra buttons and a box of choccies - that i have to say, i ate before the camera got to take a picture!!

Oh and before i forget - the house we wanted has sold. So as planned we are staying put.
It would have been nice to have a lovely big house that was very pretty, but we have decided to stay here for a few more years and completely finish everything so we can enjoy it. So a busy year ahead - new kitchen first!! woo hoo!! i've never had a brand new kitchen!! I'll be busy showing you our transformations as they happen.
Also we are going to book a trip to New York just before christmas for me and the hubby. So i am very excited!!!!!
Today i treated myself to a brand new dolls house (i'll show you it once i've put it all together)
So if anyone is interested in buying my other dollshouse then let me know.

Thank you

I want to say thank you to all the ladies that have left such nice comments on my last post.
I am still feeling 'strange' but i've had a nice day today. My son had his sports day and we went to our fave restaurant - My Kitchen in Leigh on sea.
And as always i've been catching up with your blogs that never fail to cheer me up.
I am so glad that i am part of this wonderful circle of friends in blogland. :-)

Not quite right

I was going to write a different blog tonight, but something has stopped me.

I feel........strange........Do you know what i mean by that?? Theres just something not quite right. I don't feel sad, but i don't feel happy....i guess i just feel like i want to be quiet?
Last week i had some good news....Some of you will know (from previous posts) that i have a pacemaker for a congenital heart condition. After my youngest was born i suffered more damage to my heart.....infact the whole of last year was awful for me. But i recieved a letter from my cardiologist last week saying that the damage that had been caused is now all fine as the pacemaker and time has made it heal. I wish i had found this out earlier (i was ment to ring up a week after my last ehocardigram to find out the results, but i was so scared it was going to be bad news that i didn't)It took me 6 weeks of worry before i found out. The problem is, that i don't have much faith in doctors - they have got so many things wrong in the past - that i can't help but think, have they got this wrong. I still feel like i'm coming to terms with having a pacemaker for the rest of my life and I am trying desperately to believe them, that this is now ok.

Then last night i came home to find my car had been keyed the whole length!! Why are people so cruel?? It's going to cost us a fortune to fix.

I wish i could share some more things with you on here, but it's abit to 'public' for my liking.

I'll do a happy post tommorrow - after all, that is why i set up my blog in the first place

Hugs to you all xx LissyLou xx

2)Painting pottery. I love it and find it so relaxing. The latest thing i have painted are some spotty coasters.
3)Magnets
4)Flowers in the house.

5)Swaps - soooooo enjoying them!!

Next i was asked by Little Gem to list 6 things that make me happy.

On that note, Let me show you the fab things i got today.
Some Flower fairy books for under £2, A novel for £1, 2 books for my eldest for £1 (yes, i have a book addiction!) and this gorgeous sleeping bag for the little one from H&M

I also go this great photo album and card for my eldest to give to his teacher at the end of term. (She loves Roald Dahl)
So, now to this week. My eldest has had fun making families of these:
We have had some yummy meals taken from this book.
Tommorrow i am making the white chocolate and passionfruit cheesecake - yum!!
If it's yummy enough - it will make it's way into this lovely book - given to me from my boys.

I have been wanting a set of the Malory towers books i read as a child for a while- and i finally got them this week on Ebay - they were packaged well and had this lovely postcard of the area that the lady came from.
I can't get enough of innocent smoothies - just so delicious i have them everyday.
I got these today in H&M - just iron on!! You never know - one of you ladies may get something with one of these on one day!
Also, this week, i've been sorting out.
Some of my projects this week have been to go through all my files and folders and chuck and organize.
I have sorted out my recipes and home folders which have left me with such a great feeling - isn't it just so great, that feeling you get after you chuck out or tidy up things?? or is it just me??!!
