Woodland walks with my boys

What a lovely name for a wood. This woodland is in Stock, Essex. The place i dream that i live. The houses are a bit out of our price range though.
We went looking for bluebells, but i think we were a little early. We'll try again in a couple of weeks.

The only flowers we found were these. Does anyone know what they are called? I'm not very good with flower names/ maybe it's a weed? oh well, it's pretty anyway!!
When we got back the boys coloured (my youngests favourite thing to do lately). My eldest has taken to wearing this Punk sweat band that his uncle gave him from a fancy dress he went to.
Later we did a spot of gardening. I cleaned out the boys playhouse, cleaned the downstairs windows and me and my eldest planted some seeds - buzy lizzies, cornflowers and poppies.
We then had dinner at one of our favourite restaurants - My Kitchen in Leigh on sea. Its a veggie place and it's fantastic. My husband isn't even veggie but it's his fave.
Wishing everyone a happy mothers day for tommorrow!

Waking up to a lovely day.....

It is a beautiful sunny but chilly morning here. I have just put my washing on the line. It was wonderfully peaceful with just the sound of birds in the background.

Last night me and my hubby sat down to watch Dirty Dancing with pizza. I love that film!!
My eldest was with his Grandad last night, they went to see SpongeBob Square pants at the theatre. I'm looking forward to picking him up soon and taking him and the littlest to the woods for a picnic and to hopefully find some bluebells.

The letter 'L' part three/ a story/ and bargains!

This is the final part of the letter 'L'. I hope you have enjoyed!!

Lush - this strange gloop is Herbalism from Lush. When i hit my 20's and had my first child i came down with a case of greasy skin and spots. I tried so many products and this was the one that worked!! They stopped it a few years ago and i actually cried!! My spots came back and i was so upset. But after a few months they brought it back (maybe it was all my moaning to them). I now even get complimented on my clear complexion.

Lady - It's actually called Tenderness. I bought it when my eldest was little because it reminded me so much of us and how we used to stand cuddling, even the hairstyles were the same.

Luck - this was a keyring my nan and grandad bought me years ago when i was about to start my GCSE's. I'm not sure if it actually worked, but i love it anyway.

Lucy in the sky - is one of my favourite shops in Bluewater shopping centre. It is filled with lovely pieces of jewellary mainly. It always has lovely music playing and just looks great! There is a picture of Marilyn Monroe on the wall that i even asked if i could buy. I haven't been able to find the exact same one.

L'Occitane - i love this shop. It is so pretty. I find it quite pricy, so i ask for things i want for birthdays etc.
Lloyd Loom - i did'nt know what Lloyd Loom was until my mums friend spotted this chair that used to belong to my Nan. She had changed the cushion a few times. I remember sitting on it as a little girl in her bedroom. It's now on our landing by the bookshelf. The boys sit on it to read and i use it if i'm looking something up from a book.

Lemon and geranium/ Lilac and Lavender- from Cath Kidston. I've posted this before. I still can't believe i managed to get them from TkMaxx for £3 each!!

Laundry

The end!!

Now i have to tell you a little story about yesterday.

My hubby rang me up at 7am. Luckily i was awake!! And he told me he had taken the car to the station (he normally walks). When he got there his train had just pulled in so he made a dash for it but forgot to get a parking ticket.
He asked me if i could go down there straight away to get one.
Being the loving wife i am i said of course.
I quickly pulled on a jumper over my grey night top and decided i could carry on wearing my pink and cream flowery pj bottoms as when i got there i could pull up outside the ticket machine and quickly nip out without anyone seeing me.
I looked in my purse for £5 (can you believe the cost!!) and had none. So i got our big jar of coins and counted out £5 worth of 5p's!!
I bundled the boys into the car and set off. It's about a 3 min drive. When i got there i realised i did'nt have my hubbies spare keys, so i drove back again!
When we eventually got there i pulled up, got out and to my despair had 3 men in suits all suddenly pull up in there cars and stand behind me whilst i had to post all these 5p's into the machine!! It took ages as you have to wait between each coin for them to register!
After putting the ticket in his car, i got into mine and looked in the mirror at my scarecrow hair and unmadeup face with yesterdays mascara smugded around my eyes!!! arggghhhh!!!! They must have thought i was insane!
I rang him when i got back (he thought it was very funny). I told him he owed me big time. The lovely man did end up making it up to me by coming home (late though i must say, when he had promised to be home early to see the boys! He texted and said 'oh dear i haven't done well today have i?) with Dirty Dancing collectors box with 2 dvds, a night top, eyemask and little bag. I thought that was sweet as he must of remembered me saying a while ago that i know longer had the film on DVD. He also got me Devil wears prada, which i do have taped but not on DVD. I'm thinking i can drag this out for another week or so and see what else i can get hee hee!

Lastly - I am going to take part in this. Looking for and posting about things that are bargains. Bits abit like those of the lovely Cath Kidston. We love you, but you are too pricy for some of our pockets!
I went in to Sainsburys today and noticed lovely spotty jugs and mugs. The jug was £7.99. There were also some very lovely flowery place mats and coasters. And blue spotty ovengloves for £1.99!!
Have a good weekend all

The letter 'L' part one

I've seen this on some other blogs, so i thought i'd join in: You show pictures of things around you home beginning with the first letter of your name. So here goes:

Liesl - i loved Liesl in the sound of music. I wanted to be here as a child, dancing around to 'Sixteen going on seventeen'. This book is a lovely read.

Looney!! Thats what often think my youngest son is. Seriously he is nuts!! but charming, happy and gorgeous too.

Learning - I made my first piece on the sewing machine on Sunday (i know, i know it's taken me ages to make something). I can't show you what it is as it's going off to my heart swap partner Rachel. I had a little problem as i forgot to leave a gap, and when i realised, it was in an awkward place. I'm not very good at handsewing, but i think i did an o.k job. I'm quite proud of my first make.

Labels - these were free with a magazine and it came with a c.d to print off your own. I love labels for jars, pressies, folders etc.

And Lastly...Lantern - This was a TKMaxx find years and years ago, i love it and it's so pretty when lit.

Sweet things

Another lovely sunny day!! I have had a nice morning with a friend and both our youngest children in a playplace and then off for a lovely lunch.
I had such a treat this morning. One of the school mums bought my youngest a Humphreys Corner top, beacause she knows i love it, how sweet is that?

This is my only buy from the fair i went to on Sunday, a very sweet heart.

My mum got me this sweet shopping bag, that folds into a great strawberry!!! It's from Tiger.

Sweet treats for my boys. Can you see my eldests top tooth sticking out slightly? It's been there for ages and won't budge. The other tooth is already fully there underneath!! I think we'll be making a trip to the dentist soon!!

Flowers from the garden. I've actually put them into 2 of these little vases now as they were abit crowded.

A spring in my step!

What a beautiful day!
I enjoyed walking my son to school today so much.
It was sunny and warm, no need for coats.
I could hear children laughing and chattering and lawn mowers in the distance (one of my favourite spring/summer sounds)
And such a beautiful scent of cut grass and flowers i could smell.
Everyone is so more cheerful on days like this, greeting with smiles and hellos as we walk past.
I have washing on the line and the playroom is filled with sunlight.
How lovely!
While i blog, i am eating the most delicious cake in the world!! Caramel shortbread that my hubby bought me yesterday to have today from Costas.

I love that the littlest one has started to play with the buggy i played with as a child, and you can just about see the wicker chair in the playhouse that i had as a baby too.

I hope you are all having a beautiful day!! Enjoy your week, love and hugs LissyLou xx

Sunny Spring Day

I'm feeling much better today, the sun is shining, i've had the most wonderful cuddles from my littlest boy and i'm off to help my friend at a spring fair.

The Song Of The Daffodil Fairy
I'm everyone's darling; the blackbird and
starling
Are shouting about me from blossoming
boughs;
For I, the Lent Lily, the Daffy-down-dilly,
Have heard through the country the call to
arouse.
The orchards are ringing with voices
a-singing
The praise of my petticoat, praise of my
gown;
The children are playing, and hark! they are
saying
That Daffy-down-dilly is come up to town!
